Newport College Annual 5-a-side Soccer Competition

Newport College held their annual 5 a side soccer tournament on Friday 19th May 2017. Twenty-one students from fifth and sixth class in  Scoil Mhuire participated. One of the boys’ teams made it to their semi-final and the girls’ team lost out in the girls’ final to Newport. Lunch was kindly provided by the school and all of the students from Murroe really enjoyed the tournament.

Camogie Blitz

Well done to the camogie team who played three exciting matches in the Doon GAA Grounds on May 16th. They had a good win over Caherline but were unsuccessful against strong teams from Oola and Bilboa.

East Limerick Cumann na mBunscoil Boys Hurling

Today, Thursday 11th May, the Boys Hurling team  travelled to Murroe/Boher G.A.A. grounds at Beary’s Cross to take part in the Boys 11 a-side Hurling Competition. The competition took place in glorious sunshine. The Boys played against Donoughmore, Ahane, Tineteriffe and Killinure. The Boys won against Donoughmore and Ahane. They were unlucky to come out second best against Tineteriffe and Killinure. They played excellent hurling all through with great heart, determination, discipline and skill. The team was made up of Boys from 6th Class, 5th Class and 4th Class.

F.A.I. Soccer 5-a-side Competition

A total number of thirty-eight boys and girls from Scoil Mhuire N.S. participated in the FAI Primary 5-a-side Competition on Friday March 24th 2017. The event took place on the all-weather pitches in Sean Coill, Parteen. It was a little chilly but there was beautiful sunshine throughout and it was dry too. Students from fourth, fifth and sixth classes participated. There were three boys’ teams and two girls’ teams. The children represented the school really well and played fairly and sportingly in each match. The children enjoyed the day very much.
