Digital Primary School Showcase

5th and 6thclass attended the Digital Primary Schools Showcase on Thursday April 6th in Mary Immaculate College.  Our Junior Digital Ambassadors were Eoin Callanan, Luke Moroney, Ivan Kondratenko, John O’ Brien and Dannan O’Rourke. They prepared animation projects using Pivot Animator and Movie Maker which they presented at the Showcase along with a number of other Primary Schools.  Both classes attended workshops on Minecraft for Education, a LEGO Education Showcase by MIC students, a music workshop and a Fresh Film workshop. The children enjoyed the day and were a credit to the school.

Soccer blitz: Newport College held their annual 5-a-side soccer tournament on Friday 19th May 2017.  Twenty-one girls and boys from Fifth and Sixth class in Scoil Mhuire Murroe participated.  One of the boys’ teams made it to their semi-final and the girls’ team lost out in the girls’ final to Newport.  Lunch was kindly provided by the school and all of our children really enjoyed the tournament.

East Limerick:  Congratulations to Sarah Jane Flynn who played with the East Limerick team against the City in the semi-final of the Neville Cup.  Sarah Jane played in the second half as full forward.  She reported that the team played their hearts out but were narrowly defeated.  She considered that it was a wonderful experience for all the extra training she received and for the opportunity to make new friends.
