This week, Senior Infants and First Class celebrated Space Week by doing the experiment ‘Rainbow Colours Mixing’. Children investigated the effect of mixing food colouring to a mixture of milk and soap.
The Aistear theme in Junior Infants this month is the Doctor’s Surgery. The children have been busy building hospitals, working in the doctor’s surgery and creating items using play dough.

SSE Airtricity and Dublin Zoo have launched The Eco Explorers Club a new online resource platform inform and educate children on the natural world. The Eco Explorers Club is a 10 week course created with the Dublin Zoo Discovery and Learning Team. It will explore five educational topics related to sustainability and the natural world including biodiversity, climate change and pollution. The range of resources, created together with Dublin Zoo’s Discovery and Learning team, is available on The Eco Explorers Club hub.

Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC) has launched a competition to coincide with International Biodiversity day. TLC is asking families and individuals to submit photos of nature in its element in their garden or local green. This could be as simple as birds, animals, insects, plants, trees.
To enter the competition, people are should follow the Team Limerick Clean-Up Facebook page or Instagram account (@teamlimerickcleanup) and post their photos using the hashtag #BiodiversityTLC and tag Team Limerick Clean-Up.
