Biodiversity in Senior Infants

Today we learned about Endangered Animals in other parts of the world. We discussed Climate change and global warming and the effects on wildlife.

We then discussed ways of caring for our environment. The children suggested planting more trees, recycling, using electric cars, buses, planes, using solar panels, wind turbines, stopping over fishing and reduce emissions by walking instead of travelling by car.

Active School Active Halloween

The children in Scoil Mhuire Murroe were encouraged to find ways to promote physical activity in fun and inclusive ways in the lead up to Halloween.

This week we had a Monday Monster March, Tuesday we had a Halloween Soccer Match and Tag Rugby training with Munster Rugby Coach Nathan O’Meara, Wednesday was our Wicked Witch Walkway challenge, Thursday was our Halloween Yoga and Friday was our Halloween Dress Up Disco.

Fifth and Sixth Class Bake Sale

Well done to the boys and girls in Fifth and Sixth Class who organised a Bake Sale to collect money which was donated to the children’s hospitals in Dublin. It was an amazing achievement. All the boys and girls enjoyed being involved in this fantastic fundraiser. We would like to thank the cooperation of parents in this worthy cause. We are very proud of the boys and girls and their fantastic efforts.
