Science Projects School Exhibition

Children in fourth class had a school exhibition and presented their projects to the children in Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First Class, Second Class and Third Class. Children had an opportunity to interact with the different groups, asking questions, playing games and exploring different topics. All of the classes had great fun. The boys and girls in Fourth Class did a great job! Well done to all of the boys and girls!

Intel Science Exhibition

Today, Intel Judges, Tommy and David, visited our school to view the exhibition of projects by Fourth Class. Projects ranged from making board games, to carrying out experiments to simply answering questions they always wondered! It was a fantastic day for all the children involved. All of the children received certs and a goody bag for competing in the Intel competition. Winners on the day were: Aideen Kinsella, Darragh Meehan and Katie Belle Clohessy who finished in second position and Jaime Collins, Cillian Holmes, Luke Rainsford and James Hartnett who came in first position and will represent Murroe N.S. in the County finals, taking place at the end of November in Intel Headquarters!

MATHS STEM Trail

Children in First and Third Class worked together to complete a ‘STEM Maths Trail’ today. Children in Third Class guided children to First Class to explore, investigate, measure, estimate and problem-solve in all areas of the Maths curriculum. Children solved questions in the classroom, around the school building and outside in the school grounds. It was a very enjoyable activity for all involved. Well done boys and girls!

Maths Week: Active Games

Children in Second Class worked with the children in Junior Infants and Senior Infants to play a number of Maths games in the school hall. The children in Second Class explained how to play the games to the younger classes. Well done to the boys and girls in Second Class who acted as exemplary teachers for the morning!

Problem-solving in First class

Children in First Class worked in groups of two and three to solve addition and subtraction problems. The children are learning about the different problem-solving strategies they can use to solve these problems. Children self-assessed their work. Great work today by the boys and girls! Marvelous Mathematicians!
