New teacher

We welcome to our school our new teacher Ms. Niamh Hickey.

Hallowe’en Dress Up

Hallowe’en is rooted in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.  Pupils may dress in Hallowe’en costume on Friday October 27th.  Masks are not permitted as masks can be frightening.  In choosing your costume we ask you to consider your child’s health and safety at school.  We would like every child to enjoy the dress up and a voluntary donation of €1 per child will go to our local St. Vincent de Paul.

Cumann na mBunscoil Football Finals

We wish both our boys’ team and our girls’ team the very best of luck in their finals in the Gaelic Grounds today.  Expected time of boys’ final is 11.40am. Expected time of girls’ final is 12.20pm

Cross Country Running

May our athletes be ‘fleet of foot’ as they participate at the Primary Schools Cross Country today in Limerick Racecourse.

Students’ Council

Best wishes to our Students’ Council.  They are: Third Class: Cara Cremins and Dylan Barry, Fourth Class: Laura Flynn and Michael Landers, Fifth Class: Julia Bubula and Vijay Power, Sixth Class: Siobhán Cooke, Abbie Duggan, Conor Barry and Eoin Callanan.  The Students’ Council gathered ideas from the children for playground markings and for the location of our two new benches.

Team Hope

We are supporting the Christmas Shoebox Appeal again this year and boxes may be brought in to the school after the mid-term break.  We would like to thank you for your great generosity to this very worthy cause each year.

Board of Management Report

Child Protection Policy and Health & Safety Policy have been reviewed.  Our Statement of Strategy for School Attendance has been prepared for Tusla-Child and Family Agency.  The school has obtained charitable status and has been added to the Register of Charities.

Mid-Term Break

School will close on Friday October 27th and re-open on Monday November 6th.  Happy Hallowe’en to all.

Le gach dea ghuí,

Marie Griffin (Principal)
