Olympians Live Webinar with Rhys McClenaghan and Aidan Walsh on April 27th. The children enjoyed learning about the two Irish Olympians and doing the Active tasks too. The Dare to Believe Webinar was very interactive.

Active Schools Week Dance and Athletics April 2023
Thursday was our Dance and Athletics Day. The children learned new dance skills with the dance teacher Nicole Sweeney. The children performed their new dance routines in the school yard.
Our Athletics events included wheelbarrow races, sack races, egg and spoon races, hurdles, baton relay races, throwing competition, three legged race and more.
Active Schools Week Soccer April 2023
Wednesday was our Soccer Tournament in our local Murroe Wood Astro Turf. The boys and girls had a fantastic time down in our local astro turf. The children learned new soccer skills.
Active Schools Week Walkway in Murroe Woods April 2023
Tuesday was our Walkway Day. We learned new orienteering skills. The children completed a Active Achool Flag Walkway challenge and recorded their results on the Walkway record pages. The children also walked down to our local Murroe Wood Centre. The children enjoyed walking around the Nature walk route around the Astro Turf. The children worked in pairs and recorded the Nature Hunt trail.
Active Schools Week Funday April 2023
On the Monday we had a Funday. The children had fun learning new PE skills during our funday. The activities included table tennis, parachute games, hulla hoop games, scoop and ball games, dance, rounders, skipping ropes games, hockey stick horse Derby race etc.
Active School Week: Feel Good Friday Table Tennis Takeover
Friday was our Table Tennis Takeove Challenge. As part of our Active Schools Week we had fun learning table tennis skills. Our focus strand in P.E. this term is Games and striking with an Implement. We had an opportunity to learn new striking with an implement skills on the day. We also had fantastic fun and competition during the teachers vrs students matches.
Munster Rugby Coach Evan Cusack
Evan Cusack taught the 5th and 6th class students rugby skills on the Friday of Active Schools Week also.
Fifth and Sixth Class Bake Sale
Well done to the boys and girls in Fifth and Sixth Class who organised a Bake Sale to collect money which was donated to the children’s hospitals in Dublin. It was an amazing achievement. All the boys and girls enjoyed being involved in this fantastic fundraiser. We would like to thank the cooperation of parents in this worthy cause. We are very proud of the boys and girls and their fantastic efforts.










Regional Analog Competition





Well done to Alex and Cillian who represented Fifth Class and Murroe NS at the Regional Competition at the headquarters of Analog in Dooradoyle. They reached the semi-finals which was a fantastic achievement. We are very proud of you.
